Providing opportunity to teenagers and young adults living with disability
In just four years, this unique event has provided an opportunity to 75 teenagers and young adults living with a disability, who have challenged themselves to go beyond their best. Many of these participants have gone on to set and achieve many more personal goals.
They are however, not the only people to have benefited from this amazing event. Thanks to your participation and support the Krazy Kosci Klimb has raised over $900,000 providing essential funding for the Accessible Gym and Sports Program at Cerebral Palsy Alliance.
For people with cerebral palsy, regular physical activity can mean the difference between living independently and having to rely on a carer. This program provides supported access to appropriate exercise equipment and programs to maximise their health. The people who participate in these programs engage in inclusive community activities, where they meet new friends, increase their independence and self-esteem, and proudly share their achievements with their family and friends.
Currently, over 200 adults and young people with a disability use the Allambie Heights Gym on a regular basis. Another 50 utilise the gym through our supported sports programs.
