Abbie the BRAVE

$4,281
raised of $5,000 goal

Hi, I am Abbie and I am 17 years old!! I have been receiving support and therapy from CPA for 17 years!!! They have become a part of my family and to thank them I would like to help raise funds for equipment and support for other children and adults facing similar challenges to me.

I love movies and music. My favourite actor is Jim Carey and I have named my rabbit - Ace Ventura. My favourite singer is Michael Jackson - sometimes I drive my family crazy by listening to him all the time. I love to try and moonwalk around the house.

I have a very rare diagnosis of Congential Bilateral Perisylvian Polymicrogyria - also known as "Perisylvian Syndrome".

I can not wait to make lots of friends who are climbing Mt Kosci with me.
I love spending time with my family and friends. I have one brother, Eric - he is 10 years old and climbing with me. The rest of my team is my mum, Naomi and my grandparents - Fris and Oma Margaret.

I am very busy getting strength training with my friend Pip at 'Breaking Boundaries'. Please enjoy my updates. My family and I would like to thank you for supporting me in this massive challenge.

HOW did Abbie get the nickname ABBIE THE BRAVE?
In 2015 Abbie underwent major spinal surgery due to scoliosis. Rods and screws were placed in her spine to help stabilise it.
Unfortunately Abbie suffered major complications and after three surgeries and a long stay in intensive care she became ABBIE THE BRAVE.
Doctors were unsure whether Abbie would walk again and if she did - how well?
Walking to the top of Australia's highest mountain is so very important to Abbie personally.
